Parks & Park Shelters

There are also three open-air park shelters, and the historic Depot in the Park, which can be reserved or rented for family and community events. Full details regarding these facilities can be found on the Shelters and Depot page.

Park Hours

All city parks are open daily from 5:00 AM to midnight, with the exception of Black Elk-Neihardt Park, which operates from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. 

The Splash Pad at Generations Park is operational from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Contact the on-call staff if there is a non-emergency at one of our parks. For example light left on at the Amphitheater. If it is an emergency contact 9-1-1.

Cemetery

Cemetery Rules and Regulations-Adopted 11/2022

The Cemetery and Parks Department is responsible for the management of the Blair Cemetery, including the sale of grave spaces and providing grave openings. Full details regarding cemetery operations, how to purchase grave spaces, and an online search of burial records, can be found on the Cemetery page.

The Cemetery and Parks Department is also responsible for the management of all public parks, park shelters and park facilities. The full-time Department staff oversee part-time employees hired from April through October to assist with the additional responsibilities that arise during warm weather.
