When does a structure require footings?
Footings are required for all structures that require a permit. Accessory structures which are not greater than 120 sq/ft do not require a permit. Accessory structures 200 sq/ft or greater require footings in accordance with the Building Codes. Accessory structures greater than 120 sq/ft but smaller than 200 sq/ft can have alternate footings.
