The City of Blair was able to finally hold a ribbon cutting for the new Hollow Road Bypass which has been in the works for approximately 20 years.  The roadway connects Highway 30 and Highway
75. Dignitaries including Blair Mayor Mindy Rump and U.S. Sens. Pete Ricketts and Deb Fischer attended the event. The whole intent for this bypass is to get truck traffic off the downtown streets of Blair and make downtown more pedestrian friendly.  It will take several years for the city to see the impact of this road and is only a start to help alleviate the truck traffic in the downtown area.  The city is currently working on a North bypass to further eliminate traffic issues in the downtown which will easily take a decade or more.  The city has started the environmental review process for this bypass but that can take five to six years to complete.
